Thornton-le-Moor · North Yorkshire
Two bedrooms in a quiet North Yorkshire village. Twenty minutes from the National Park. Two dogs welcome.
Elm Cottage
Drive through the lane until the sat-nav stops being useful, and there's Elm Cottage — cream walls, sage-green windows, a wooden door that opens onto exposed beams and a lit log burner. The kettle's on. The wifi's fast enough for a day's work if you have to.
Out the back, the walled garden is fully enclosed — the dogs can run, and you can read in a chair under the pergola without anyone bothering you. From the front door it's a short walk to fields, footpaths, and the kind of country pubs that learn your dog's name by the second visit. Twenty minutes by car and you're on the edge of the North York Moors.

“Beautiful traditional little cottage tucked away on a quiet road. The cosiest living room you've ever seen, with lovely cottage decor and furnishings throughout. Very dog friendly with thoughtful bits for our dog. Would absolutely recommend to anyone that loves quintessential English cottage vibes.”

“The cottage and garden are idyllic, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The garden is completely dog secure which was much appreciated. We were well placed to visit York, Helmsley, Osmotherley and even the coast — highly recommend Runswick Bay for an unspoilt dog friendly beach.”
